Privacy Policy for TinyRoll

TinyRoll is an iPhone app made by Above AS in Norway ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens with your data when you use the app.

1. Your photos stay on your device

Everything TinyRoll does with your photos and videos happens on your iPhone: showing them, keeping or deleting them, finding duplicates, compressing videos and converting Live Photos to still photos. No photos, videos or thumbnails are uploaded, shared or sent to us or to anyone else.

2. Access to your photo library

TinyRoll asks for access to your photo library so it can show your photos and make the changes you choose. You can give full or limited access, and change it at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.

• Deleting: Photos you delete are removed through iOS and end up in Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can restore them for a limited time.
• Making files smaller: When you compress a video or convert a Live Photo, TinyRoll saves the smaller copy in your photo library with the original's date, location, favorite status and albums. The original is moved to the trash in TinyRoll.
• Albums: TinyRoll only adds photos to albums when you ask it to.

3. Data stored on your device

To remember your progress, TinyRoll stores some information locally in the app: which photos you have reviewed, the photos in TinyRoll's trash, your statistics and your settings. This information is never sent to us. It is removed when you delete the app, but like other app data it may be included in your device backups.

4. Place names for photos

When a photo has a location, TinyRoll can show the name of the place, such as a street or town. To find the name, iOS sends the photo's coordinates to Apple's location service. No photo, image or other information about you is sent along with it, and we never receive the coordinates or the result. Apple handles this request under Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. iCloud Photos

If you use iCloud Photos, the changes you make in TinyRoll sync to your other devices through Apple, just like changes made in the Photos app. If a video is stored only in iCloud, iOS downloads it from your iCloud account before TinyRoll can compress it.

6. Purchases

TinyRoll Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we don't receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. The app checks with the App Store on your device whether you have an active purchase.

7. Ratings

TinyRoll may ask you to rate the app using Apple's standard rating prompt. Your rating and review are handled by Apple.

8. No accounts, ads or tracking

TinyRoll does not require an account or a login, and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. The app contains no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs that collect data.

9. When you contact us

If you send us feedback or a question by email, we receive your email address and your message. We only use them to reply to you, and we delete them if you ask us to.

10. Children

TinyRoll does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

11. Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data through the app, we have no data about you to show, correct or delete. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to see or delete your messages. If you live in the EU or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In Norway, that is Datatilsynet.

12. Changes to this policy

If TinyRoll changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page.
